    Hi Silver Taxi rep,

    I’m really disappointed because my taxi never came when i booked it today over the phone. I ordered for one for pick up immediately from home so i can go to my doctors. I straight away received a SMS saying that taxi 1744 is approaching but that taxi never came. I waited an hour which left me late for my
    appointment. I’m really disappointed. in the service, itisunreliable and the system does not inform me of the waiting time.

    The taxi driver I currently have is the rudest man I have ever met! We booked a taxi going to the international airport. One would then assume we have large suit cases. The driver, even though it is in his job description and it is ther service I am paying for, refused to help us put our bags in the cab. And he was so rude about it!!!! If we weren’t running late (because we had waited for our booked taxi for so long) we would have flagged another one. I am so appalled by the way this driver treated us! Even when we paid and got out of the taxi he was moaning and expected us to pay more for his help! The ride already cost us $50! I’m just disgusted by his treatment and it is the last thing one needs before a long haul flight! I will definitely re consider using this company again.

      Taxi drivers in general are rude and their driving skills are appalling.
      Their behaviour on the road is aggressive and dangerous.
      I witnessed a Taxi Combined cab ( license T 779 ) cut me off the road then preceded to stick his finger up at me and my 2 year old once he overtook me, this was all before 8am on a Saturday morning…nice guy ! what a lovely start to the day.
      My opinion of taxi drivers is pretty low.

    VERY UNRELIABLE Service even it’s very good usually for Silver Taxi. I booked via online a request for taxi for my boss two hours ahead of the meeting where my boss needed to attended locally around the Sydney City to Kings Cross. Although it’s on a busy Friday, there was no one returning a call to advise that no taxi was available, all of the reason was that booking is for a short trip at Sydney City. How would I image that would be the outcome without any notice and my boss would be terrible late. At that short period of time on a busy Friday, it was unable to organise another taxi – unless she could pot luck. Luckily we lined up with some more expensive taxi service agent and then we called that service for urgent help.

    Dont waste your time booking on line, far better off hailing a cab in the street.
    After booking a cab and no show I call the cab centre which has a recorded message boosting that Silver Service have 3,500 on the road. Obviously none are coming to my address. Finally I speak with a real person who says a cab is on the way.
    15 minutes later, no cab, for some reason the cab has been cancelled but they can put me on hold for another 40 minutes if I want to make a complaint.

    Last time I flew overseas I booked online for a Silver Service taxi to the airport. It never arrived. After a call to the office they assured me the cab was on the way. again we waited. In all a total of one hour. Thankfully a neighbour took us to the airport where we were last in a long cue for seat allocations. My wife called to cancel the cab and the telephone person hung up on her.

    I booked a taxi yesterday at 3 pm for 7.30 am today… Silver service taxi!!! What a joke. The taxi never came. I rang several times to check ETA and they told me that they could not find ” a single taxi in Sydney”. One service operator took the time to advice me” in future, do not travel at 730 am and do not make any appointments in the morning”. Exceptionally helpful comment in a city like Sydney. I shall never book with Silver Service taxis.

    I wanted to complain about a specific cab driver who was rude, patronising, and did not know his way around Sydney Airport to a local hotel. Coming from Inter-State, we hailed the taxi at the airport, and gave the driver an address (premise number and street name) but he couldn’t find the way. However, after driving aimlessly for a while, he finally radioed to his base to get directions and misinformed them that WE, the passengers, didn’t know where we were going and that we didn’t provide an address. With that, we demanded he stop the cab and let us out. If the Silver Service firm is interested in which cab number it was and the date/time, please contact me. However, upon reading the other comments from disgruntled passengers, I see that we are not alone in experiencing such rude and shabby ‘service’.

    I am fed up of getting aggressive, huffing and puffing, grumpy taxi drivers at the airport just cause my destination is not what they hoped for. I thought a taxi drivers job is to get us all to our destinations albeit $5 fare to $100. Another annoyance is these taxi drivers who park at the airport and dont have a clue how to get to places. I feel sorry for these tourists getting off long haul flights and getting these incompetent drivers. Something needs to be done to sort this out. Fed up with them all.

    I have issued two formal complaints as to taxis never arriving and frankly unacceptable phone assistance.

    The result? My two written complaints seeking legitimate responses to a number of issues including as to seeking systematic changes, have not been acknowledged and have been ignored.

    I am now lobbying in various forums including politically and with media and transport industry to simply obtain service for customers.

    I am currently sitting in a silver service can that smells like an ashtray and horrible morning breath! If this is silver service mcdonalds is fine dining. I am disgusted, my allergies are irritated, and yet I have to pay for this. I will refuse to get into another silver cab again! I’m so glad I get to smell like one of these filthy cabs all day in my business meetings.

    No less than 6 silver service taxis outside my front door & not one is willing to take a $15 fare to the next suburb. The 1st in line told me to wait for 4 minutes, then drove off. 2nd in line said she couldn’t do anything until it was her turn to be 1st. Customer service is pathetic to say the least. A slap in the face to honest customers

    I was so angry that the driver from silver (with taxi number 1115) deliberately took a long way to the international airport and argued so rudely with us. He picked me up in front of the hospital in Randwick and I was checking GPS all the way. He drived around the racecourse and then after we found that and argued with him, he started to choose the right way. I usually spend 30 bucks for such distance, but this time it cost me 47 dollars!!!

    I recently used Silver Services Taxi from Leichardt to Hurstville which is totally a rip-off and not to mention the rudeness of taxi driver that’s absolutely not acceptable.

    A journey which should only cost about $45 has become $88.70 for that night. The driver couldn’t explain how it could be so expensive instead he raised his voice and keep forcing me to pay the fees since he has driven me to Hurstville. I, being only a girl whose size is so much smaller than him and alone, have no option but to pay. To make things even worse, the credit card machine didn’t work so I had to pay cash. To my understanding, providing payment by credit card is a standard compulsory service, but apparently this is not the case for Silver Service Taxi.

    I travel from Melbourne to Sydney every 2-3 weeks. Fares from the airport to Botany, the next suburb where I stay, should be around $15. These despicable drivers increase their fares as they please. The last 2 times we were ripped off, 3 blocks from my destination the meter read $14, 3 blocks later $23, less than 30 seconds drive down the road. Tonight $35! Why? “Because it was the last fare of the night and thats what it costs.” The driver also said he had no change from a $50, so I had to pay with my credit card or give him $50 for a usual $15 fare. Previous complaints to the company remain unanswered. Absolutely disgusting service!!! Never again. I would rather walk, even now being pregnant.

    What a bashing you’ve got on this forum, Silver Service Taxis!!! Isn’t it a shame that people are so quick to complain, but rarely leave positive feedback.
    I’ve just made an on-line booking to the airport in the morning. I’ve done this a few times and I must say that my taxi has been here on time to pick me up … the drivers were pleasant and helpful … and the taxis clean. Thank you Silver Service!

      If I had positive feedback I would give it, but after the skills and manner of the driver I saw today, I won’t even be giving Silver Taxi a change to redeem themselves. I’m glad you had a good experience but I hope you are not put in a situation like I was put in today with the horrible driving and road rage of cab number T7113.

    I wanted to make a complaint about one of your taxi and the service I received today. I needed to catch a taxi home which was a 10 minute trip. I had my 17 month old daughter with me. It was raining and I missed the bus so went to the taxi rank at campbelltown. I was the first waiting and the silver service taxi pulled up. The driver did not acknowledge me at all, here I was standing in the rain asking him ‘are u going to take me?’ he did not respond just sat in the taxi. I got closer and asked him again all he did was point at the pram and wave his hand. I was at a loss! He was basically just ignoring me! If he had of wound his window down and said he did not want to drive me, I would have still been upset but what he did was much much worse! To be totally ignored! That is not service! I let the person behind me get in the taxi. I was humiliated! It is ok by law for taxi to carry children over 1 year old without a car seat, whilst it is not something I would do all the time, when it is a need I have never had any problems until today. I won’t be using this service again and will be telling my friend and family of the ‘service’ I received today.

    Just wish Silver Service would explain to your drivers that Carrington Road has three areas Randwick Coogee and Waverley. Sick and tired of waiting outside my place then ringing to check the booking and they say there was no one at adress when I have been standing outside all the time. Could be possible the drivers do not like going to the city.

    it was really a pathetic and horrible experiences with silver taxi services. I have made my booking at 8:30 AM with baby capsule and the taxi didn’t turn up even after 2 hrs. I had called silver taxi thrice for the status they keep on saying that we are arranging. why do you keep advertising that if you don’t find the taxi then will be arranging another taxi and you have 3000+ taxi all over the city and all…

    Booked a 6.15pm pick up Friday 7/12 from North Sydney to Opera House. Waited until 6.45pm, never turned up.
    At same time booked a return trip for 11.30pm pick up from Macquarie St. end near Opera House – never turned up.
    Silver service took my mobile number yet no-one even rang me to say there might be a problem – not good enough!!

    2 times within the last month the phone operators were exceptionally rude! First time I pre-booked a taxi online, the night before for the morning to go to the city. The taxi never arrived. I called to check where my taxi was and the operator told me in a very rude manner that the service is based on the availability. Should I mention that the taxi never arrived? Lucky I wasn’t going to the airport. Really crap customer service.
    2nd time, after waiting for my taxi for an hour, I called as a courtesy to cancel my booking, as at that point it became a pointless waste of time, only for the phone operator to hang up on me.
    Still have not heard back after lodging an official complaint.

    My yearly taxi expenses run into thousands as I use taxi 5-8 times a week. Silver taxis are not going to get any of my money, until they sort out their customer service.

    Same experience as Alice (above) at 24.6.11 – Booked a cab at 3.40 on 9.2.13 at Mater Hospital to go to Wahroonga – Taxi came in 10 minutes (Asian driver in what looked like a Fairlane – When he arrived a woman waved cash at him saying she wanted to go to Artarmon – Driver said he was not for me – I asked a second time and again he denied he was for me and picked up the woman – I immediately rang Silver Cabs and was told my driver had just called in that he had picked me up – I got his number and lodged a complaint on the Government Transport line who will contact Silver -I have always had good service from Silver in the past – I had used Silver that morning to get to the Mater and found it very good – However in discussions with members of our association this morning many have advised to use multi sim mobile phones and call a few cabs under different names – Then take the one arriving first – We all use a private limousine service for airport and cruise ship connections for the very reasons above

    I’m a silver service service taxi driver was reading how bad the service is well its not just drivers all the time. We pick up around 20 to 30 fares every day and as we know u can’t make everyone happy can you? Just to give you an example I mean just talking about today picked up a fare from Olympic park to airport and as soon as I hit home bush bay drive this girl said u taking me long way I said which way she would like to go and the reply was I know u taking me long way I stopped the car and asked u tell me which way she wants to go she had no clue then the guy next to him said its her first time in Sydney … its not just drivers sometimes passengers make them bit upset I think if someone treats u like this at ur job u might react the same. Then at night fr m George St to darling harbour the guy sat in taxi and said darling harbour and as I was driving he said he knows his ways so don’t take him long way … I said if he knows the way the direct me and he start swearing so i told him to get out the same way if u paying us the fare doesn’t mean u have bought us. Treat us with respect and u would get respect or else u know how it goes… and about taxi not coming on time …. well we go there wait no one comes then u come to know the passenger already took cab bcoz booked many cabs whoever Comes first they take em or book a taxi then hail a taxi from street.
    I’m not saying everyone is good but the same way no one is perfect….

    I got a Silver Service taxi from Brisbane airport to my home, the fare came to $75, I paid on EFTPOS, then when I got the receipt, I saw a 10% fee for using my card. I asked the driver and he said they can charge it. There was nothing mentioned on the stickers etc in the taxi, I also asked him if its mentioned anywhere, he pointed to another sticker in the front, which you cant see from back seat, then as we BOTH read the sticker, it still didnt mention it, so the driver didnt have a clue. This really should be mentioned. I made a mention of this to Silver Service, but they didnt seem to care.

    I am a little concerned and confused by reading all the comments. I realise that both passengers and drivers can be at fault.

    I am going to use Silver Service on 30th April, 2013 and 1st of May 2013. I will let you know how it goes.

    It will be my manager who will be going to the airport and our new employee (WHS Manager). So service is a must.

    I’d like to make a complaint about a specific unsafe cab driver who put my life in danger today.

    Cab number T7113 (an older man) nearly caused a very bad crash in an intersection at City Road and Bultin Avenue today at 5pm.

    I was attempting to change lanes in order to turn right. I am a confident but not aggressive driver. I looked out my window and gestured that I would like to change lanes. This and my indicator made my intention very clear. I was polite with a smile and he saw me and stared. I made the assumption that he would let me in as there was room in front of him and he saw all the signs I had given. As I went to pull into his lane he sped up and beeped me. At this point we were in the middle of an intersection with cars waiting for my movement. Confused at his intention I beeped back and proceeded to take my place in the lane and again he sped up coming cms from hitting my car at an angle that would have hurt me. Luckily, I was able to keep my cool, quickly turn away from the potential accident and make the turn safely without the space that the lane would have given. Perhaps I shouldn’t have tested the basic road skills of a silver taxi driver.

    I am so appalled by the experience. I have never seen any driver be so rude and have such bad road skills/ road rage. I was honestly worried for my safety and was relieved when further down the road he turned right as I continued on. Who knows where that kind of road rage could have led!

    In the future I will avoid silver taxi and particularly this driver. I wouldn’t want to be in a cab that will cause future accidents or fear in other drivers.

    Booked a cab last night to go to Sydney Airport at 6am. Driver (T5053) turned up late and complained that he couldn’t find the property as it was dark. I travel quite frequently and I said I never had any issues with other silver service drivers not being able to find the property ( I live in a villa complex). Btw, why can’t you just ring my mobile if you can’t find it?! That’s why we have to provide our numbers to the online booking app, isn’t it?

    And for the whole trip he couldn’t stop talking about my supposedly ‘unrealistic expectations’ on taxi drivers being able to locate a property and I should be standing outside in the rain to wait for him.

    Thanks a lot Silver Taxi, I’m sure nothing will be done about this, so I would recommend others not to book via Silver Service from now on.

    Don’t worry, I won’t.
    Paying extra for “silver” service means performance, every time. Every single time. If one pays for them to have their act together and show up on time and know what they’re doing, they bloody well had better.
    Have a regular, corporate Silver Service set of drivers in Sydney and they would never, ever screw up. Or if something’s up they call beforehand, EVERY time.

    I booked a Silver Service cab for 7.30am on Saturday 29th June 2013. The first cab arrived at 7:10am and beeped outside my house. I had to go outside and tell him he was 20 mins early. He replied by saying he couldn’t wait and that I had to go through the whole booking process again. Another cab arrived 5 minutes later, this one said he would wait, but obviously now I felt rather rushed with all of the delays.
    My cab dropped me in Bondi from Darlinghurst. Much to my horror I realised I left my ipad in the cab & called Silver Service straight away to ask if they could call the driver of my cab. I was met with the response that nothing could be done until until Monday morning when lost property opens! Eveb though I had the driver number and cab number, the telephonist did nothing. Eventually I called back I a ‘report’ was made and I was given a reference number. I have called back over the last 2 days and still no word. I believe that Silver Service are the most unhelpful cab company I have ever dealt with and WILL NOT be using them ever again or recommending them to friends or clients.

    What a disgrace! Waited for forty minutes cos the driver kept getting lost and then gave up ! The app I used to book to meant I had the phone number of the driver Amrit said he kept getting lost as he’d only lived in Newcastle for three months! Totally incompetent. When I phoned the service to complain they would not take a formal complaint. FAIL! I have the licence number of the driver if the company is interest in maintaining any kind of quality control.

    Newcastle Silver Service Cabs are a disgrace! The driver kept getting lost and then gave up!       Yes, I agree. All these complaints about taxis not being happy to take them five metres up the road – do any of these highly paid business people ever give a moment’s thought to the desperation felt by taxi drivers who are trying to make a living and support families – often in circumstances where they can’t be employed elsewhere due to language difficulties or racism – who are asked to give up their spot as number one in the line for a $15 fare. No, clearly not. I am in fact one of those highly paid business people and if I ask a taxi driver to do that I tip him $40 because he is working a lot harder for his money than I am, due to the good fortune I have had in life. Modern Australia. Just love it.

        Actually from the airport to botany isn’t 5 metres up the road – I live in Botany and the domestic airport is 5km from my door, and obviously the international airport even further. Do you really think its fair that after working all day in another state and then flying home, I should have to walk home, dragging my suitcase behind me. Isn’t that the reason taxis were invented?? If you dont want the chance of being ‘forced’ to actually do your job and drive someone where they want to go (which is what you are getting paid for) then perhaps you’re in the wrong job.

    went beyond call of duty. He returned my valuables left in taxi worth $600. The i pad
    Photos/digital camera etc priceless to us. He was polite, courteous and should be
    Commended by your Company for his honesty. Please let your Company Manager know he is a very special honest driver. I prayed all night for the return of these
    valuables and hoped the driver would find and return them……prayers are answered
    in strange ways and faith is so important in life.

    I also found the phone service lady most helpful and passed on my details to the driver
    Pity your Company hasn’t got more drivers like No T 5656. ……well done POUIDUR

    i would like to thank the driver who picked me up from the airport on the 9th of december for not handing in my travel documents and money which were in his boot as i had only been in the country an hour what a start,will never use this company again,all i was asking was a little honesty thank you silver service taxis

    I use silver service monday to friday from Gordon to the city every week spending apprx $1,200 a month. Today, yet again, my cab did not turn up. I rang Silver Service to find out where is my cab (why am i calling them and not the other way round?) I was informed that my driver had turned up but there was no-one there. This is a straight out lie as i called the cab whilst waiting outside my house and I can guarantee he did NOT turn up. The operator then said another cab would be dispatched, and yet again i had to ring to find out whether a cab was coming. The operator told me they could not find one. finally 45 mins later a taxis combined cab turned up. Taxis combined will now have my business, never again Silver Service.

    Took taxi 2090 today. Rude driver who didn’t respond when I entered the taxi and told him my destination. Drove 35km/h through the city, spoke on the phone while driving and never said thank you. No wonder your company is called Silver service, it will never receive a gold! will not use your company again. Disgraceful.
