Taxi drivers are always lovely but those people who take your phone calls, do not expect any common courtesy or manners they will treat you like dirt every single time. They certainly need retraining in basic customer service!

Do not rely on these taxis for a baby seat. They claim to supply baby seats (rear facing for young babies) however I ordered 2 taxis and both times the seat would not have met safety standards. I actually refused to use the taxi the second time around as the seat set up was so bad.

I frequently use taxis to attend John Hunter Hospital. I am disabled can only walk a few steps with a walker. I have always found drivers punctual, courteous and friendly I have no complaints.

Drivers are great, although the taxi hotline workers have disgusting manners. Speaking to people in the tone and manner they possess is absolutely horrendous . Common courtesy, believe it or not, can go a long way. These hotline employee’s are working in a customer service position, I have previously worked in customer service for the Roads and Traffic Aurhority and although I was treated poorly on a daily basis, never had I begin to act or treat my customers in this way. This is poor and embarrassing for Newcastle Taxi’s, this is also a horrible representation for the company. I feel sorry for tourist and elderly people who have to engage with these rudely mannered individuals. Investing in some customer service training is greatly required for these employee’s. They wouldn’t appreciate being spoken to that way, and there is no need to speak to people this way. I will definitely be reconsidering my business with Newcastle Taxi’s and begin to use Newcastle Hire Cars more frequently.
